Brief Answer:
Explained below..

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query,

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern,

From the description provided, you seem to have a cervical spine related problem. It could be due to the following possibilities:

- Neck strain
- Cervical stenosis
- Bony spur in the cervical spine
- Decrease in synovial fluid pressure

It is normal for people to experience cracking sounds in the neck, called crepitus. Could be due to the strain over the ligaments and tendons attached. Ample amount of rest and proper positioning along with some physiotherapy should resolve the matter.

Since your symptoms seems to be pertaining for a few months, I would suggest it better to consult with an orthopaedician for proper examination. Even an Xray spine should be considered to rule out any internal pathology.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to discuss further,

Regards
