Suggest Remedies For Sneezing, Cold And Running Nose

default
Posted on Sat, 3 Sep 2016
Question: I am suffering from allergies like sneezing, cold, nose running. I went to Dr. and he has prescribed one nasal spray and telecast l. I got relief initially but after long time whenever I stopped taking this medicine, again the same problems started. This is happening from last two years. Now I went to pulmonologist and he prescribed some diagnosis. I found my eosinophils increased 17%. Further in early morning when I wake up some kind of blood is coming from my mouth with my spit. My mouth was open during sleeping hours. I m also experiencing hair fall. Submitted to you for better advice, please.

Brief Answer:
Getting an allergy test done should be a good idea

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. It seems that you are having an allergic reaction to something. The triggers need to be identified and avoided. If you are unable to identify the triggers it might be a good idea to get an allergy test done to help in identifying the triggers. Till then continue telecast off and on as required.

It might be a good idea to get a deworming done. Taking albendazole 400 mg one tablet tonight and repeating the dose after a fortnight could help.

I would also insist you to ask your doctor to evaluate whether you need treatment with antifilarials like diethyl carbamazine (DEC). Your doctor also needs to evaluate if you are having respiratory obstruction or sleep apnea which could be the possible cause of your sleeping with open mouth.

About the hairfall, try applying ketoconazole shampoo twice or thrice weekly and see if that helps.

Brief Answer:
Stop using diprovate.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.

Alopecia areta is likely to be associated with some fungal infection. Please do not use diprovate for more than a week (from the onset of application of the medicine) as it increases the chances of the infection coming back again and again. You need to visit a dermatologist and get it evaluated. Application of candid (clotrimazole) lotion should provide relief.

Try using ketoconazole shampoo twice or thrice weekly and that could help in reducing your hairfall.
