Suggest Remedies For Spider Bite On Scrotum
As explained below.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Noted that you had been bitten by the brown recluse spider 3 times in the past 3 months, two on the leg and one on the buttock cheek.
Wants to know what to do if the same bite the testicle (scrotum).
Since you have experienced this before, you will be aware of the consequences as you must have observed last times.
There will be central edema, halo of redness, with spread, later the area may blacken up.
If the bite is recent, please apply ice in plastic.
clean the area with mild soap and lots of water.
Take an antihistamine.
Apply liquid povidone iodine locally.
Watch for any other symptoms and report to ER for clinical evaluation. and further management if required so.
There is a possibility that you may get either less than before or more than before local as well as general reaction since you already had same spider bites, this depends upon the way your immune system responds to the present bite.
I hope this answers your query, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
If possible post clear picture/s for on-the-spot diagnosis.
I've done everything you said. Taking antihistamine and applying liquid povidone iodine.
For the past bites, I have cleaned the area while showering then applied alcohol then antibiotics. Due to where the bite is, I cannot apply alcohol because it would be very painful.
I am wondering if I can apply antibiotics and the liquid povidone iodine?
Povidone Iodine is the best antibiotic locally.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
It is true that one should not apply alcohol at the scrotum.
Since Povidone Iodine is the best skin antibiotic you need not apply any other ointment.
You can repeat applying Liquid Povidone Iodine 2 to 4 times a day.
Take care.
