Suggest Remedies For Stiffness And Swelling In The Finger
Question: I was picking up a twig that was very small, it may have been a dried up tomato twig. A sliver went into my third finger on my left side and it hurt very bad. I could not see anything like a piece in my finger but it was very painful to the point of thinking I was going to black out. I washed it and put h2o2 on it then went to bed. When I woke up I forgot about it. I went to work all day, had a piano and Ukulele lesson and did not think about it. Then went to bed around 10 pm and promptly woke up at 11:15 with terrible finger stiffness and swelling. I took tweezers and pressed on it to see if I could get something out as it looks like the beginning stage of a pimple.

I have studied your case.I think you may have a prickly but nothing remain inside. Still I would suggest you to do following.
1.Wash this with sprit and keep it dry. Do not use water .
2.Take Antibiotic like Amoxiclav for two days to prevent sepsis.
3.Tablet Advil or Brufen 400 mg twice daily for pain relief.
4.In case pain is not controlled or pimple increases in size then you need to see a surgeon as soon as possible. You can share image of pimple with me.

It is so small and you cannot really see it in a picture, it is red and angry. I don't like taking drugs or advice or brufen. I did wash with alcohol and I put a cream I found in my fridge called Triamcinolone Acetone Ointment USP, 0.1%.
It is throbbing and red and hurt feels stiff to bend but the pain is mild now. When It happened yesterday evening it hurt like crazy, then I forgot about it all day. It seems weird.

Brief Answer:
You need to avoid triamcinolone cream
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The cream you applied is for skin allergy. It is steroid and not for your case. Throbbing pain us suggestive of infection. So I would suggest you to show it to your physician. He might prescribe you antibiotics and NSAIDS like Brufen. I know you want to avoid medication but some time you have to take it to avoid complications.
thanks.
