Question: My husband was in the hospital for 4 days. On the last day, while they were waiting for the Dr to release, the nurse was giving him one more unit of iron using the port that they had since Monday, seems the needle slipped out of the vein, she asked him if he wanted her to poke again and he said no. However, now his arm is still swollen, and it is very painful. He has been taking tylenol for the pain every 6 hrs Is there anything that we should be doing to get the swelling down and make the pain go away?

Brief Answer:
Hot fomentation will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, I would advise that in addition to Tylenol, you should also give serratiopeptidase for relief from his symptoms.
Hot fomentation will have added benefits.
If the symptoms persists, get him clinically examined and investigated by your doctor.
I hope this is helpful to you. If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.
