I had a really bad cold starting Nov 23rd 2016, but now have the symptoms above. Worried that it may be a bigger issue.

Brief Answer:
Inflammation in upper and lower respiratory tract

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxx, thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

Looking at your symptoms, you might be suffering from inflammation in upper respiratory tract(nose, sinuses and throat) and lower respiratory tract.Allergy might be a cause due to inhalation of chemicals.

Chronic exposure to inhalation of chemicals may cause the smooth muscles surrounding the airways to constrict, increased mucus coming from irritated mucus glands lining the airway and Excess mucus may clog the airway and prevents air from circulating or Constriction of the lungs may result from scarring when the supporting tissues are damaged. There is a possibility that Chest tightness which you are suffering from might be due to narrowing of airways.
Chest x ray and lung function studies is required for the diagnostic evaluation. Lung function measures the amount of air breathed in and out, the speed it moves, and the effectiveness of oxygen exchange with the blood.

Other causes of chest tightness might be heart problem or Gastro-esophageal reflux.Electrocardiogram is also required to rule out heart problem.

It would be advisable to consult a physician doctor to find out any lung or heart pathology.

Till then you may find relief by taking following medicines:
Analgesic and Anti-inflammatory(like Ibuprofen)-it will reduce the pain and inflammation in the airways
Antacid(like Rantac)-it will help against the increased acid formation by use of Analgesics and also helpful if you are suffering from Garstro-esophageal Reflux,
Antihistaminic(like Cetrizine)-it will help in Allergic symptoms like itching,Increased mucus production, nasal discharge,
Oral decongestant (like Phenylephrine) and Nasal Decongestant(like containing Xylometazoline) if you are not suffering from hypertension-it will help in decongestion and will promote drainage of collected mucus secretions
Mucolytic like Ambroxol/Guaifenesin -it helps in breaking and expulsion of mucus secretions blocking the sinuses and airways .
Bronchodilator like Salbutamol -it helps in opening of the medium and large airways in the lungs.

Also do steam inhalation.Avoid inhalation of chemicals.Drink lots of fluids(warm)-it will help in breaking of collected mucus secretions.Stop using Tobacco.Do warm saline gargles.Avoid Cold food.
