Suggest Remedies For Tiny Painless Fluid Filled Bumps On Upper Lip
Question: I have a tiny painless fluid filled bump on my upper lip that recurs every two weeks in a similar spot. It tingles slightly. I have general herpes but am on acyclovir daily and virtually never get outbreaks. I've never gotten cold sores and it does not appear to be one. It does not blister etc. what can it be?
Brief Answer:
Seems to be cold sore, please send a photo
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concern.
1. The painless fluid filled bump on similar part of your lip seems to be cold sore throat taking into account your personal history of general herpes and being under aciclovir treatment.
2. To confirm that I need to have a look at the bump myself. Can you please send me a photo?
Thank you.

The image doesnt show the bump really because it is not red it is just slighty swollen with clear liquid. (Zoom in, it is at the top of my right upper lip.) I believe i have gotten the same types of little bumps on my hand, arm and leg before. Itgoes away in about 2-3 days with no treatment. It is always one at a time, not clusters abbd they never havs appeared in the same place. There is also a little dot in the center (as if it were a pore) almost appears to be a clogged pore on my lip.
Brief Answer:
Confirmed herpetic blister/sore
Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear,
Sorry for the late reply due to my XXXXXXX clinical overload these days.
Thank you for providing the requested photo. I have gone through it and can admit it's herpetic sore.
Its location and presentation are typically for herpetic blister.
This means you're going through a viral (herpes) infection although you're not 9having other symptoms like fever etc. This bump is the only clinical presentation.
Wish fast recovery.

Brief Answer:
Following preventive measures to getting viral infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear,
Viral infections (common cold) are quite common and can occur often especially if you have a weak immunity, if you work with people who are ill, and if don't practice good hygienic measures.
What I advise my patients as you is to try strengthening immunity, and practice good hygiene. This can be done through:
- eating healthy
- breathing fresh air
- try to avoid crowded places where you can get virus more easily
- avoid close contact with ill people
- keep good personal hygiene especially when it comes to washing hands with soap and water and keep them always clean
- keep your personal utensils well clean
- do not share glasses with others especially if they are ill
- if stressed, try to cope with and get less stress
Hope this helps.
