Suggest Treatment For Sinusitis
I went to the doctor in March and they gave me zpack. I had upper respiratory and bad sinusitis. Haven t felt good after the medicine,but it did help a little. I woke up 2 days ago with an achy heart feeling and felt like my whole body was wore out. Went to the ER and they did chest xray to check for pneumonia,did and ekg which they said was good. They gave me a prescription for Acyclovir and told me I have shingles,herpes ? THe said my white blood count was low and I probably stil have something bringing my system down. I just wonder if it will ever go away? I still have the achy heart and sore body feeling. I know it takes time for the medicine. Just curious I guess.

Hi,
Well, the doctor must have found a red typical rash over some part of body hence only Acyclovir started hence you have to continue on. As for the other symptoms, the treatment with anti-inflammatory medicine with painkiller property will help symptomatically. Take multivitamins and minerals to boost up the immunity. Have regular follow up with Doctor and have WBC count checked again after a few days to see if this has improved or not. Take plenty of oral fluids and electrolytes to avoid dehydration. Take full bed rest.
As for the question of sinusitis the answer will depend upon the type of sinusitis, duration of illness, associated medical problems, fitness for surgery if the need be after a CT scan and Nasal endoscopy and if the medical management fails to relieve sinusitis. Avoid allergens.
