Suggest Remedy For A Fizzy Sound At Base Of Neck
you may have tracheomalacia.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
I want to ask you few questions first.
1. Are you smoker?
2. Are you obese?
3. And do you have cough or any breathing difficulties in night?
4. Have you consulted pulmonologist?
Since your doppler and x rays are normal, I think your sound is related to either vocal cord pathology or tracheal pathology.
In old age, cartilage tissue becomes lax and loose its tone and structure. So tracheomalacia is a possibility. It is dynamic collapse of trachea especially in expiration and more in supine (rest) position.
Another possibility is tracheal spasm And Vocal cord laxity .
So MRI is good to detect tracheal and vocal cord pathology. But I advice you to consult pulmonologist and get done Bronchoscopy and PFT ( Pulmonary Function Test ).
Bronchoscopy is needed to diagnose vocal cord and tracheomalacia.
PFT is needed to diagnose tracheal spasm.
So, reply me with the above questions, so that I can guide you further.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
