default
Posted on Thu, 2 Jul 2015
Question: I have had a cold/virus or allergies for a week & a half.
I have had blurry eyes at night with stuff I need to wash out.
Plus I often get crusty eyes at night, but not sealed shut, but pretty gunky.

Most of the time my mucus has been clear, but today it's bight yellow.
Otherwise I feel pretty good & am feeling better.

Brief Answer:
Put eye drops for relief.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query at HCM.
I understand your concern and situation.

It seems that you are suffering from respiratory tract infections caused by viruses like respiratory syncytial virus, influenza virus, para influenza, etc. Such upper respiratory tract infections are self-limiting and last for about a week. I suggest that you must do saline or chlorhexidine oral gargle 6-7 times per day. As you also have an allergic components drugs like cetrizine, loratadine, which are antihistaminics are beneficial. You are also having dry eyes I suggest you to put hydroxy methylcellulose eye drops three times a day and olapatidine eye drop twice daily and tobramycin eye drops twice daily. Avoid cigarette smoke, indoor and outdoor air pollutants. Eat protein rich balanced and healthy diet with multivitamins and calcium supplements. Drink plenty of water and juices.

Hope I answered your query.
