Brief Answer:
Immune response. no worries. see physician if repeated

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

A boil results from the immune system fighting against bacteria that infested the body. When these bacteria die or are killed, they need to be sent out of the body, and this usually is done at times in the form of boils. T/he location of the boil usually has nothing to do with the origin of the infection.

The fact that the boils were in the scrotum has no direct interpretation. It depends on the venous drainage and lymphoid factors. I might insist it has nothing to do with a sexually transmitted disease or not.

You need not worry. It becomes concerning in case of repeated boils or discharge. Kind regards as I wish you the best of health.

Regards,

Dr Bain
