Suggest Remedy For Bruise On Buttock In A Child

Question: My girlfriend's baby of 11 months was found this morning with bruising over his left butt cheek, a dark ring around his anus and "cracks" or "tears" across his anus.

I am 100% sure there has been no sexual or physical abuse and the pediatrician believes it was caused last night.

He was thrashing around and making noise in his pram around 3:00am but was tended to.
When my girlfriend woke up this morning she found it and is now deeply suspicious that I have caused it.

Are there any medical or practical explanations as to how something like this could happen over night?

My only other explanation is that about 2 nights prior, after bathing him and getting him out to dry him we noticed he had a plastic disk from one of his baby bottles stuck between his cheeks.
I believe maybe that he had it stuck there the whole time and he was bouncing around and splashing in the bath a lot and i think if it was between his cheeks he could have kept landing on it and perhaps didnt realise it was happening.

I know that i have not done anything abusive or in any way wrong by him but its the only thing my girlfriend can think of as being an explanation.

Brief Answer:
Very unlikely to be a plastic disc. But medical reports can prove all !

I feel really sorry for the situation your family has to face. It is very awful and I hope all settles down with time.

As far as the probability of it being the plastic disc getting stuck all the time for a long time and neither you or your girlfriend noticed it. It is because in that case the baby must have cried a lot due to physical injury.

Nappy rashes can be an option but if that was the reason of this issue, no pediatrician can ever misdiagnose it as this is a universal issue and pediatricians get it in the first glance. Also it usually doesn't have cracks all of a sudden. But again I want to add that medical reports will show all up.

His pediatrician must have to send some tests to Lab to find of the human tissues and secretions like mucus and semen in and around the anus. If nothing found then other options can definitely be ruled out too like it being the plastic disc, nappy rashes etc. May be someone from outside may have abused the baby. Do you remember last day and night for anyone being so close to the baby??
