Suggest Remedy For Bulls Eye Rash
Question: My son has a bull's eye bite on the back of his calf. How concerned should I be?
Brief Answer:
Bite
Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question and looked at the picture.
As you probably know, the bulls eye rash is seen in Lyme Disease. However, having this rash doesn't necessarily mean he has Lyme. Typically, an infected deer tick needs to be attached for approximately 48 hours in order to transmit disease. This may or may not have happened in this case.
I do encourage consulting with your doctor and having the blood work done. This would definitively tell us if there is Lyme Disease or not and if this needs to be treated.
