Question: my daughter is for several years she has times of sever tiredness and her abdomen will swell as if she is 8months pregaent . cat scan showed in larged lymph nodes but nothing else was said. the swelling will go away after a few days and sometimes a few hours. no outside factors seems to be involved. she has walked with her back leaned backwards since 4 or 5 making her look more rounded. she has been dx with sever constipation and had mono test come back positive and neg. at different times. I have noticed a funny grove in her abdomen from her ribs to her lower abdomen right in the middle of her stomach . like a ditch right down the middle of her body . I just found that last night she complained of real pain when I rubbed my hand down the grove. no one seems to know what is wrong . she rides and trains horses daily but when this thing acts up she barley has engery to go to the barn. we have even tried chropractic help with no improvement it actually made it worse. she is so ready to give up and cries often with her lack if strength. please help !!!! she does have a small cyst on ovary and started her cycle at 10 so everyone now just blames hormones , I know that is not it . we have noticed a pale skin color when this happens and her blood sugar will stay low even after a big meal. she also has very tender muscles when you touch her back or neck even softly she will complain of pain, she has had several falls from her horses but does not seem to change anything before or after. Brief Answer:
Intestine invagination can be the reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

First of all please note that it is extremely hard to help you from the point of this service, especially that many doctors who were able to perform tests and examinations could not find the reason.

From your description, probable reason of her symptoms can be intestine invagination. Its kind of infolding of one part of the intestine into another one. This can appear spontaneously for no visible reason. And in the same way it can disappear without leaving any permanent signs.
The main problem with intestine invagination, is that it can be diagnosed only during the pain. If the test (like CT) is done when there is not pain, the result will be negative.
During the invagination, bloating, abdominal pain, pale skin, accelerated heart rate, tiredness can appear for sure. She may also have stool and gas obstruction during the invagination. She may have gel like reddish substance in the stool (raspberry color) right after the pain.

In my opinion, you should consult good gastrologist. Abdominal ultrasound (not CT) should be done during the pain. Colonoscopy might be necessary as well.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
