I can understand your concern regarding the pigmentation problem you are having. It seems you are having a specific type of pigmentation called Melasma but its difficult to point specific diagnosis and gauge severity of condition in absence of clinical examination.
Therefore, I insist you to post good clinical pictures to me so that I can help you in a better way.

From 2010-14 I used to apply OLAY day cream in the morning and apply lakme compact powder before going out. I have never used sunscreen but nowadays i am using Spectraban spf 30 at the advice of the doctor. My exposure to sun is limited now but before it was around 2-3 hours a week. I have no history of menstrual irregularity nor i take any medication of any kind.

Brief Answer:
Microdermabrasion plus Chemical peels

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Sorry for late reply.
From the review of pictures its very evident you are having Melasma.
Melasma is a kind of hyperpigmentation seen mostly in females of middle age and is dictated by hormones and sunlight.
It treatment is challenging but with proper regimen good results can be achieved.

Usually the treatment is divided into clinic based treatment and home based.

At clinic, I suggest series of chemical peels like glycolic, Jessner, TCA with or without microdermabrasion. Generally 6-8 sessions at gap of 2 weeks are recommended.
Also i would suggest you intake of oral tranexamic acid tablets for 3-4 months as it is potent inhibitor of melanin synthesis and thus prevents recurrence of pigmentation.

At home you can apply continue applying ILUMAX cream and MELANORM lite cream as advised.
After 1 month of regular use I would suggest you to omit ILUMAX cream and just continue with MELANORM Lite cream for maintenance.
Use high SPF sunscreen on regular basis every time before going out in sun.
Use glycolic acid based facewash.
Hope this will take care of your issue.
Let me know if you require any further assistance from my side.
Take care

Is there no way of getting better without chemical peeling or Microdermabrasion?
If any way is there then what are my options?
If I have to continue with MELANORM Lite cream do i have to apply the whole face or just the pigmented part?
Please suggest me name of glycolic acid based facewash.

Brief Answer:
Chemical peels and microdermabrasion give faster and better results

Detailed Answer:
Its very difficult to obtain good results in Melasma.

Chemical peels and microdermabrasion are good options for faster and long lasting results.
Other procedure that can be done are lasers, mesotherapy etc.

Oral tranexamic acid tablets are also a good option. These tablets are usually given in dosage of 250mg twice a day for 4 months.

Apply Melanorm Lite cream over full face with more focus on dark areas.

Melawash by Curatio is glycolic acid based facewash.
