Suggest Remedy For Difficulty In Getting Pilot License Due To ADHD
Question: my son was diagnosed with adhd or add not sure which--the only reason for this is because he needed extra help in school and the school would not help him without some type of diagnoises--the dr. that did this didn't want to do it from the beginning--now my son has graduated and is wanted to get his pilot's license--they tell him that this can cause a problem with his medical records and I don't know what to do or which way to turn to try to help him get this taken care of.
Brief Answer:
You need to consult adult physician
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us,
I understand your situation.
Many times pediatricians diagnose ADD or ADHD, but as the child grows these need to be reviewed and rediagnosed if present.
In your son's case maybe he was qualified then ( pediatrician ) and now he cannot do that because of his limitations.
Ask him why he cannot rediagnose, if he is still persisitent, consult adult physician to rediagnose him as normal so that he gets his pilot license.
Wishing him good luck
Regards
Dr Arun
