What Are The Effects Of Cannabis On A Hormonal Level?

Woman, 21 yrs. I suffer from ADHD, pcos and type 2 diabetes. While I find that having cannabinoids in my system temporarily more or less eradicates symptoms of ADHD, I m worried about the other two. I have studied and reasearched for months, and I cannot find any clear, concise and understandable explanation of cannabinoids effects on PCOS and diabetes. How will cannabis affect my diabetes and PCOS? My fertility is pretty much a lost cause, so when it comes to PCOS and cannabis, what I would like to know is just whether the effects of cannabis will be positive or negative for me hormonally. It feels like it has a positive effect on both PCOS and diabetes while I m on it, but if I use it for a while and then quit, the two diseases will feel worse than before for a week or so. If this becase the body needs to readjust something, or because I m suddenly made aware of the symptoms cannabis makes my body temporarily forget? Help?

Hi,

* Cannabis on female reproductive system - perturbations by exogenous cannabinoids in cannabis may disrupts homeostatic mechanism in of endocannabinoid system which naturally exists in the body and leads to infertility
* Cannabis on diabetes - treatment should include either pills, capsules and oils but smoking cannabis is not legalised in the UK
* Effects include - double edged sword - benefits on one side like, stabilise blood sugars, suppress arterial inflammation, ease the pain of the neuropathy, lower blood pressure, relieves muscle cramps, increases insulin production.(CBD, THVC),
* Negative effect of cannabis - impaired glucose tolerance when heavily used, raised appetite can lead to hyperglycemia, not recognising symptoms of hypoglycemia, effects of drug are confused with symptom of hypoglycemia

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
