Suggest Remedy For Dry And Swollen Eyes When Suffering From Glaucoma
Question: hi my father is suffering from glaucoma, his age is 66. doctor said his left eye optical never is damage. he is not having vision in it. and right eye he lost his partial vision of right eye because of glaucoma and cataract.He underwent laser treatment and used the prescribed eye drops regularly(for gluocoma:Alphagan(P),Lumigan,Brimolol and for pressure Acupat,Refresh Tears,Vigamox) because of the pressure cataract operation delayed.
Is it possible to cure his right eye for life time and how to control pressure of eye and all medicines are proper to use? he is using glucoma drops in both eyes. and both eyes are very red and skin nearby to right eye is very dry and having swollen

The visual fields of right eye is showing moderate loss of visual field because of glaucoma. Hence we need to set a target pressure of around 10-12 in right eye to prevent further progression of glaucoma.
Since the intraocular pressure in right eye is now 12 he can undergo either cataract surgery alone or cataract surgery with glaucoma surgery. But after any of the surgeries he needs to be on follow up and needs to be on glaucoma medications.
For left eye since it is not having any vision and the intraocular pressure is 40, it is in absolute stage of glaucoma. It needs to be treated for pain relief by cyclophotocoagulation to decrease pain and other symptoms.
Do discuss with your doctor regarding these options.
