Can Cervicitis Be Cured By Medicines Or By Laser Treatment?

Hello Dr.
My wife is suffering from vaginal discharge like sticky white liquid without bad smell for the last 3 months. Doctor said it is cervicitis and she has to go for laser treatment. Is it safe? Or can it be cure by medicine only? Please give me the proper guidance. Thanking you.

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

I think that cervicitis should at first be attempted to cure with medicines. I would suggest a course of doxycycline (100 mg) for 14 days, tablet metronidazole 400 mg for 10 days and tablet fluconazole 200 mg for 4 weeks. If medical management fails then laser treatment may be required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
