Suggest Remedy For Flushed Face When On Nystatin And Triamcinolone
Observe closely; visit ER if problem persists or unusual symptom appears
Detailed Answer:
Hello
My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.
I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. There could be a number of causes for facial flushing. As she is also on a number of medications so there could be possibility that overdose of a medicine could have caused this. Other cause is some allergic reaction that can be in response to insect bite. If you observe aggravation in her symptoms or difficulty in breathing then visit ER immediately. For itching cetirizine one at night is be helpful. You can discuss this with your physician as well.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
Could be drug induced or autonomic imbalance
Detailed Answer:
Hello
thank you for the followup query.
I'm sorry to hear that your mother is now suffering from pain as well. Drug overdose and autonomic imbalance are two important causes for facial flushing. You can rule out drug induced flushing by reducing or temporarily stopping the medicine to see if there is improvement in the symptoms. If yes then dose adjustment/alternate medicine would be required. If it does not improve then further workup would be required under the supervision of a "Consultant Medical Specialist". He might advise MRI-Spine to see if there is any problem in the autonomic nervous system resulting in flushing. Meanwhile following measures will help to reduce the pain intensity:
- naproxen twice a day
- ice packing face
