Brief Answer:
Reduce salt intake and regular exercise
Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam,
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.
Normally no direct relation between ice and blood pressure. There is possibility that after eating ice there is activation of sympathetic nervous system and peripheral vascular system which reflexively cause increase in blood pressure.
Simple measures to keep blood pressure in control is to reduce overall salt intake in your diet and regular physical exercise.and yes continue your medicines as per your doctor's advice.
Hope I have answered your query,

Since I'm not ready to give up ice just yet, I need a solution that ensures there will be NO activation of sympathetic nervous system and peripheral vascular system which reflexively cause increase in blood pressure in addition to reduced salt intake and exercise. I've even notice elevated blood pressure when just drinking a cold drink of water or tea. With the hottest month of the summer coming up along with hot flashes I need SOLUTIONS...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Usually the reflex blood pressure increments following ice consumption is short lived. Therefore unless blood pressure remains persistently elevated, we need not treat it. It would have been better if you mentioned blood pressure numbers here. Should the values remain persistently change in the current blood pressure medicine/dose is entailed.
Ice eating is not going to harm you. If you feel relief in hot flushes with that you can continue.
You should include exercise and salt restriction. If BP numbers remain elevated, antihypertensive treatment change as described will be needed.
In addition you should also go for thyroid evaluation.
Lastly if hot flashes are severe, consider visiting gynecologist for treatment.
Wish you good health.
