Suggest Remedy For Hot Flashes And Stomach Pain Post Total Hysterectomy

default
Posted on Mon, 13 Apr 2015
Question: I'm a 55 yo woman, 9+ years post total hsyterectomy and several months I began having horrible hot flashes, often brought on while doing nothing.

In the last few weeks I've had increasing stomach pain, almost hunger pains even though I've recently eaten. Only foods that seem to set it off are meals heavy in protein.

I am 5'2", 240 and take Phentermine on a daily basis for weight loss and have loss 70+ pounds in last 18 months. Normal bp, no other medications. I don't have insurance, so if there are any home or over the counter suggestions I would appreciate them.

Brief Answer:
it seems to be peptic ulcer.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

It seems that you might have gastritis or peptic ulcer.
You should avoid fatty, processed ,spicy foods.
Foods that contain caffeine like coffee ,tea, chocolate can make the pain worse.Avoid juices and acidic foods.
Eat small frequent meals instead of three major ones.Drink plenty of water.

You can take Omeprazole (Prilosec) 20 mg twice a day , at least one hour before meal for two weeks.

If the symptoms doesn't seem to improve or they persist after finishing the treatment ,you should consult a physician because the peptic ulcer might be caused from H.Pylori infection and you need to take a 14 days therapy of two antibiotics (Amoxicillin and Clarithromycine ) in addition to Omeprazole.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubts to clarify.I will be happy to help.

Kind regards,

Dr.Rovena Murati
