Suggest Remedy For Intermittent Dry Cough In Children

Question: Hi,
My daughter is coughing from last three days. She probably got the infection from me as I had fever and cough from in last two weeks. My daughter is 2 years 6months old. It started as dry cough for her and today I hear the phlegm sound. She has this habit of not throwing out anything from her mouth. so she doesn't spit out the phlegm. We started giving her 'Maxtra Syrup' 2ml twice daily diluting it with orange juice (as she doesnt take it otherwise) from last two days. But doesn't seem to be any change in her cough. She starts coughing when she lay down. when she starts eating sometimes she gets cough so she is finding difficult to have the food, otherwise her appetite is okay. she has no other issues: fever, runny nose.
Please advise.

Brief Answer:
viral illness
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
As you say that that her appetite is normal and she has no other issues like fever, runny nose, it looks like viral illness.
You can give syrup ascoril flu kidz for cold and congestion (taste is very palatable).
Syrup Macberry-xt can be given for cough with phlegm.
Dose depends on weight of the child.
If there is no relief in 2 to 3 days, antibiotics may be needed. (for that you may need to consult a doctor).
Hope I helped you.
