Suggest Remedy For Itching And Burning Sensation On The Labia Majora
Question: I have itching and burning of the labia majora. This started a couple days ago after scratching and left a sore patch, this patch has since then healed over (slightly lighter than the surrounding skin) but I am now experiencing burning on the other side. There is no visible cause other than redness. There is no irritation of the labia minora or any discomfort during urination. There also does not seem to be any abnormal vaginal discharge. I am planning on doing STD tests this weekend if symptoms persist unless otherwise advised.
Brief Answer:
Monitor symptoms and report to me early next week!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I have closely evaluated them and they do not seem to suggest a vaginal infection of STD. What is your sexual life like? Do you have multiple sexual partners and do you indulge in unprotected sex? If you answer yes of any of these questions, then doing an STD screen would be great. If the answer is no, I will suggest we monitor over the weekend and only go for testing if the symptoms persist.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
