Suggest Remedy For Itching In The Urethra And Pain During Urination

default

Question: So, about three months ago, I had a sore throat accompanied with pain while urinating, and a general itchiness in my urethra. I went to an std clinic, took the general std test, and everything came back negative. While, i was worried it could be herpes or syphilis(because those were not tested for), i never had any symptoms of blisters or ulcers or itching, just some muscle tightness in my legs and hip. So I just continued on with my life. However recently, at the base of my penis, it seems to be somewhat moist or oily, accompanied with red and shiny skin. There are no blisters still, and the confusing thing about it is how painless the whole area is. There is no itching, burning, or any pain associated with it. I occasionally get a tingle or an itch but I think that is just from how aware I am of everything that goes on down there now. I guess my question is, what could cause this red moist shiny patch of skin at the base of my penis. I have used lotrimin and tea tree oil on it, and while they have worked for a short period of time, nothing has given me long term relief. Some advice or direction as to what this may be would be great.

Brief Answer:
fungal infection is my first possibility..

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX welcome to hcm and thanks for choosing us.

I share your concerns as you are not able to get relief from illness permanently. Firstly I would say that without examination or the rash , it's difficult to come to a diagnosis. But with your detailed explanation it is most likely a fungal infection. Painless, itchy, reddish rash is characteristics of fungal infection. It is related to hygiene and moisture of the affected area. Lotrimin which you are using is good option for this, but for permanent relief you need to use it for 2 to 3 months. Also take care of hygiene, keep the area dry, avoid sex, regular shaving of pubic hairs for better relief. You can also request your doctor to add antifungal tablet for faster recovery.

Other less likely possibility is psoriasis, which again requires examination and test. So a visit to dermatologist will take care of all issues.

I hope my reply will benefit you. Please write to hcm or me for follow up queries. Post photograph of the rash if you can or a dermatologist not available in your area. I wish you rapid and permanent recovery. Thank you
