Suggest Remedy For Itching Sensation In Hands And Feet
Question: I currently have itching sensation on hands and feet. Not allergic reaction. Last week I had the same itching sensation followed by an acute episode of pins and needles in my right arm to the point my right arm felt occluded. Then pins and needles in right foot, left foot and left arm. Went to ER immediately as I felt like I was having a stroke. All CTs, MRIS& MRAs with and without contrast came back normal. Just a few white matter spots on the left parietal juxtacortical. I had right sided weakness and pain in my right arm for a week after this event. I'm not sure what happened. I can't get into a neurologist for another week. I'm starting to feel the itching sensation and I'm concerned the event will happen again. I'm 40 healthy no meds before this event. Hospital prescribed neurontin. What is this???
Brief Answer:
Your history and MRI findings correlate with Multiple sclerosis
Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic!
Based on the history you have shared, and findings of MRI it can correlate with Multiple sclerosis, but this is premature to confirm it. Before jumping to that conclusion you need to look for levels of B12, B1, folic acid and thyroid levels.
Discuss with your neurologist on next visit for need of Nerve conduction studies or EMGs and any need for lumbar puncture for oligocolonal bands.
Meanwhile you can continue using supplements for B12, B1, B6, D3 and folic acid.
Hoping you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
