I tried stopping milk feed but failed to as she insists on giving.does this have anything to do with my vitamin d3 being low. please advise
Vitamin D
Detailed Answer:
I see your level is indeed low.
Do not worry. It is easy to treat and bring it up to normal quickly.
I understand you are breast feeding. It is particularly important for you to have adequate amounts of vitamin D in your body during this time.
However, it has nothing to do with your inability to wean your baby off breast feeding.
The doses required vary from country country depending on the availability of various kinds of vitamin D preparations.
So a common one is called Ergocalciferol and another one is Cholecalciferol. Typically high doses are required. I cannot mention specific doses here as it is not in line with the practice guidelines on this forum.
But when I see someone like you with your type of levels in my clinic, I prescribe 60,000 IU once a week for 8 weeks followed by monthly dosing. This is best taken with food

Detailed Answer:
It is safe as long as the blood levels are maintained in the target range of 30 to 50 ng/ml.
Breastfeeding can continue on these doses.
I am not familiar with these brand names.
Kindly see an endocrinologist nearby to enquire about locally available vitamin D preparations that would be appropriate for you.
