Suggest Remedy For Lump Behind Ear
Lymphadenopathy
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com. I have read your query. I understand your concern. I have seen the attached photographs also.
It seems that he has developed post auricular Lymphadenopathy. The most common causes for short duration Lymphadenopathy are
1) Acute streptococcal infection
2) viral infection particularly Ebstein Bar Virus infection
3) Reactive lymphadenitis following upper respiratory tract infection
in such cases, we advise a short course of antibiotic like Amoxicillin . Once the antibiotic is started, the lymph nodes stop increasing in size and regress back to normal size within 2-3 weeks.
In viral infections causing Lymphadenopathy, disease activity is self limiting and again lymph nodes settle down in 2-3 weeks.
In cases, where there is persistent Lymphadenopathy with fever and weight loss, FNAC of lymph node is perform to rule out Tuberculosis or Lymphoma.
Visit your doctor so that he can do clinical examination and prescribe you antibiotics as discussed. You can share my opinion with him. I hope it helps.
Take care.
