Suggest Remedy For Pain After Being Diagnosed With Psoriasis

default
Posted on Fri, 18 Sep 2015
Question: Hi, I've been diagnosed with psoriasis a few months ago and continue to have markings develop. I have a spot on my knee that has been there for about two months and it is disappearing, however I have some achy pain in that area. I've been reading about psoriatic arthritis, and my question is, could this be the start? Does it tend to start in the spot of an actual skin spot?

Brief Answer:
it may be beginning of Psoriatic arthritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.
I have read your query. I understand your concern.
Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition which is limited to skin in most of the cases. However it may involve joints also in 5 percent of cases known as Psoriatic arthritis. It is not necessary that arthritis would involve the joint having skin rash or mark of psoriasis earlier. In psoriasis, it is Distal interphalangeal joint that is most commonly involved. In your case, pain in knee may be the beginning of Psoriatic arthritis.
You should get an Xray knee joint both sides done to look for any changes in joint.
Visit your doctor so that he can examine you and order tests for you.
In psoriatic arthritis, Methotrexate is considered as the drug of choice.
You can share my opinion with your doctor.
I am sure that he would agree with this. I hope it helps.
Take care.
