Suggest Remedy For Pain During Bowel Movements After LIS Surgery
I had done LIS surgery in XXXXXXX in April 2015. On 5th July I consulted a Surgeon in Kuwait(work place) as I ws getting pain passing stools n was followed by spasms effecting my daily life at home n work. He prescribed nitroglycerine 0.2% & LysYal (L-lysine hyaluronate ointment) for 1 month. I ws depressed knowing fissure hadnt healed completely even 3 months after surgery. After applyin medication the symptons got better. I took advise fm healthcaremagic experts to hv self evaluation and ws back in XXXXXXX on July 21 (I ws still applying nitro0.2%+lysyal). To my relief the colonoscopy n biospy reports were good n the XXXXXXX Dr said my fissure has healed. For mild pain he prescribed Shield ointment (twice/week). This ointment helped me get painfree stools. I m back in Kuwait n yestd the Dr. here confirmed fissure has healed :)
I will tk XXXXXXX Drs advise to continue Shield ointment for 3 weeks and stop others.
My prob now is discomfort in sitting position over long periods(I distribute weight on either thighs).
Also if stools r dry I get spasms & feeling like incomplete defecation almost throughout the day.
Dr. i want to ensure complete recovery even after stopping medications. Yes i hv work stress but biggest stress was the unhealed fissure but m relieved to know its healed.
No, I m not taking probiotics or multivitamins. Pls advise n dosage.
My diet mostly vegetables, fish, fruits n fluids. Chicken n rice twice weekly. No red meat n spicy foods. Bowels r mostly soft.

Hi
Thanks for writing in
Going through the history I see that I have answered your query about a month back but as your query has not been taken for reply for more than 12 hours and the content was different I am taking this chance to reply to it
Good your fissure has healed, shield will manage your symptoms, manage your stress and constipation both will hamper the results of surgery and fissure will reoccur
Gradually start adapting to normal posture if the fissure has healed there is no reason you should not be able to sit properly unless there is some another local lesion
Inadequate feel after defecation is a sign of collitis
I would strongly recommend you take a good probiotic twice a day for three to four weeks and get back to me
VSL#3 is a good probiotic
Take psyllum husk daily at night as additional fiber
Hope this helps
