Could Itching And Bump In Palm Be Due To Lysine Tablet?
earlier this evening my palm was slightly itchy, and out of nowhere a qaurter sized bump formed on the palm just below my pinky and ring finger.. it looks similar to a vein that bursted and is swelling the area however i havent done anything that would cause a vein to bust... please help ****I took abt 1500 mg a lysine today for the first time to combat a cold sore, is this a factor?***
Lysine is an amino acid that is used to treat cold sores and other complications caused by herpes virus. It has to be taken in the form of diet supplements. It is usually administered orally and in some cases it can be applied directly on the skin.
If this drug is taken in high doses it may lead to produce some side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, kidney failure, symptoms of allergic reactions like itching, swelling like bumps, rashes, swelling of tongue, lips or throat, breathing difficulties, dizziness etc. If these side effects persist or bother you, you should consult your doctor for medical help.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
