Suggest Remedy For Pain During Foreskin Retraction

default
Posted on Fri, 30 Jan 2015
Question: Hi, My penis is uncircumcised. I have never retracted my foreskin ever during sex because I was always feeling pain on touching top of my penis. From last week I started retracting my foreskin. At first it was hard but now with one week of stretching it is improving. Sensation on touching is also improving as I feel less pain now on touching it. First I was thinking the pain I feel is because of some infection so I started applying clotrimazole creme. But now after doing some search I came to know that the pain I was feeling because my penis head was not exposed to air etc.. With streching of my foreskin now I feel that it is less hard to retract it and it will get more easier with time.

Back part of my penis glans is little swollen and reddish which got little ok with help of streching, coconut oil and antifungal creme (I can show photograph) but I want to cure it properly because when erected my foreskin stuck into back of penis XXXXXXX it is little painful as well but with streching it is improving. Now I feel very little pain when foreskin stuck behind my penis head but it is not properly comfortable.

Can i keep using clotrimazole or I should change the creme? Also I want to know that when I do streching of foreskin can I use organic coconut oil as lube or I should change it. Thanks

Brief Answer:
coconut oil is okay

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.

It is common for there to be some pain involved in retracting the foreskin, if it has not been done in a while. It is good to retract it every day and clean there to prevent infection.

To do this pull back the foreskin. Gently with soap and warm water. Dry the area completely then return the foreskin back to cover the head of the penis. If you do this daily it will also help with stretching out the foreskin.

Coconut oil is fine to use as a lubricant. With continued stretching it should become less painful to retract. If you see redness and irritation then clotrimazole is fine to use as fungal (yeast) infections are common.

If the rash/redness is not resolving you should see a doctor because it is possible also to get a bacterial infection that may require antibiotics.

I hope this is helpful and I wish you good health
