Detailed Answer:
You should be aware of the scope of the site.
We do not prescribe, diagnose, nor treat, but provide general medical information (a lot). In pain, especially, the general information implies what is going on and how to proceed from a general information perspective.
For example, in the hip there are only a few structures present:
the joint, the muscles, the nerves. The nerves in the back might produce pain in the groin BUT it is moving the nerve and not the region that triggers pain (stretching the leg in a straight kick, not weight directly onto the joint). THe nerve would have shooting pain NOT just in one spot. Joint pain would occur from pressure onto the joint. Hernia pain doesn't generally get triggered by sitting, is far more in men than women, and people usually notice the hernia. Muscle pain people often know exactly why they have it and the muscles are directly sore to the touch.
Joint pain in the hip occurs from wear and tear. It gradually gets worse over time BUT, the first time when the bone pops through the protective cartilege producing bone on bone grinding, really gets people's attentions. It occurs in middle age. Stress onto the region is the risk. Age, trauma to the area in the past, moving with weight not balanced, just general build/genetics/bone structure, diabetes, and weight are risks (weight would be low on the list and the others are approximately in order from most to least).
Aspirin like drugs can be helpful. There are potential problems with any drug and they can be problematic due to other conditions/sensitivities/drug interactions
