Suggest Remedy For Pain In Throat
Question: Often, in the afternoon and into the evening, it becomes uncomfortable to talk, as if I am straining my voice. Even when I am not talking, i feel the strain in my throat. I'm wondering what this is. i often have to talk deeper.
It is not horrible, but becoming more and more uncomfortable, to the point where I don't want to talk or take any calls.

Thank you, I stay at home with 2 children, but I substitute teach during the year. The straining may be associated with a change in voice....no fever, lump. I do get anxiety, but it is manageable. I am wondering if my voice has gotten lower maybe? It is uncomfortable, and I am now aware of it everyday, as it causes some discomfort...just wondering what it may be.
Brief Answer:
its probably a laryngitiis
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your history,
I will try to guide you in best possible way,
If you have not worked as a substitute teacher recently then voice overuse or misuse is unlikely,
and as you are not constantly into over use of voice possibility of vocal nodule is less.
Its most probably a laryngitis.
Give rest to your voice, if you take alcohol or do smoking avoid it.
Many a times its associated with acid reflux, if you are suffering with acid reflux antacids like pantaprazol helps.
Steam inhalation and gargling with betadine mouth wash will be beneficial.
Along with it antihistaminic like cetrizine will help, your physician will be knowing the dose.
If the problem persists then, detailed examination and laryngoscopy needs to be done.
For this you will have to visit an ENT doctor as they are specialist in dealing with such conditions.
Hope this information helps.
Wish you a good health
Have a good time.
