Suggest Remedy For Pain On The Sides And Back
?? Suspecting kidney stones, among other possibilities
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. As protocol calls for it, any pain around the left region (i.e. left hand, left back, below shoulder blade, left shoulder, left chest, gap between both clavicles, etc.) should all be inspected or investigated for cardiac events. Although your presentation seems to be highly unrelated to a cardiac event, I would still recommend an EKG (ECG) to rule out the worst.
I also did not understand part of your description "pain moves from my left side of my back and moves up at about my hip". You have said that your pain moves up from the left side of your back to your hip region. Your hip region is downwards from your back and not towards the upper side. It would help if you mention the exact location of the pain in your back region (lower back, mid-back, etc.).
In my opinion, possibilities include the following:
+Spine related abnormalities (e.g. bulge in the disk, slip disk, etc.)
+Renal/kidney abnormalities (if the pain is limited to the left side, then your left kidney could be involved)
+Herniated disks
+Sciatica pain
+Ligament or muscle strain
+Degenerative disk disease (e.g. stenosis, osteoarthritis, etc.)
+Osteoporosis related complications (e.g. compression fracture): Based on your age, osteoporosis is a possibility ma'am. And the condition entails weakness of the bones, which can result in fractures
and a few others.
I can understand your condition and predicament ma'am, but you need to understand that there is some abnormality/some underlying condition. I would thus request you to somehow get two investigations conducted, only two:
+Ultrasound KUB (kidney, ureter, bladder)
+X ray spine or MRI spine
+EKG
Please do not be alarmed with my suggestion for an EKG, it is just routine and I am more than sure it will return a normal result. I would also like to mention that the most likely diagnosis based on the current description are kidney stones. Could you also write back to me with your fluid intake?
I hope I have explained things in a manner best understood by you. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.
Best wishes.
