Brief Answer:
it is likely panic attack

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Symptoms you described are likely of panic attack. But possibility of any cardiac problem must be ruled out by doing ecg/ekg as you are known case of hypertension.

If this type of attacks are frequent there is no need of ecg.

I also want to know name of medicines you are taking with dose and duration.

Also describe why you are taking medicine for anxiety?

I will be happy to help further after your response.

Regards,
Dr. Chintan Solanki.

I had EKG and stress test in the spring. Cardiologist did not see problem or ask for any follow up. My stress is ganerally work related. But I wasn't working yesterday. I suspected anxiety attack, but these are nit my usual symptons. I am on .5 MG of lexipro. 20 crestor. 20 blood pressure. We are getting good results except my bad cholesterol runs a little higher than my doctor would like to see it..

then it is panic attack likely

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for information.

Detail cardiac evaluation done and it was normal. You are already on anti anxiety medicines. Symptoms subsided on its own. These factors are favoring possibility of panic (anxiety) attack only.

You should wait. In future if similar symptoms happen use of Deep breathing technique (slowly inhale for 3 seconds deep in lungs with open mouth, keep breath in lungs for 3 seconds and then exhale slowly for 3 seconds) while panic attack can reduce/stop severity of symptoms. When symptoms not relieved with relaxation you should go only once to doctor for urgent evaluation.
If nothing comes positive there is need of intervention by psychiatrist and treatment for anxiety disorder in form of medicines and psychotherapy should be started.

Hope this answers your concern. Feel free to discuss further.
