Question: I am an 18 year old male that went to Mexico about 4 months ago. Since that time, I wake up almost every day with an upset stomach following with vomitting. My stomach is tender to the touch, not on one side more than another and burns all day. I have difficulty eating, have lost weight and have no energy.

Brief Answer:
gastritis/ulcer/ GERD...

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking.

I read carefully all your concerns and I understood your query.
You are experiencing stomach pain, vomiting, difficulty on eating etc. These symptoms may be related with :
- gastritis/ stomach ulcer
- GERD (acid reflux)
If I were your treating doctor I would recommend to do further exams:
- upper endoscopy plus biopsy for H.Pylori infection
- abdominal ultrasound
- blood work
Meantime I suggest to :
- use PPI's like Prilosec OTC to reduce stomach acid production
- use domperidon for vomiting
- avoid spicy, chilly and fatty foods
- avoid alcohol, energy drinks and smoking
- eat often and small amount of meal
- avoid unnecessary stress.
Hope it was helpful to you!
