Question: i have been suffering from the ringing in my left ear for past 4 days. ringing started after i met with an accident 4 days back. there are no external injuries/bleeding. I got myself checked by an ENT surgeon. No injuries to the ear externally. he recommended Pure tone audiometry. The test showed that there is minor hearing loss in my left year as compared to the right one. Doctor has put me on the following medications: Bilovas (80mg per day) and Nurokind Plus ( 2 tabs a day). Is it possible to treat this ringing in ears??

Brief Answer:
needs time- recovery of ringing sensation.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having left sided hearing loss.

Traumatic injury causing hearing loss always causes tinnitus (ringing sensation) in respective ear. It could be conductive hearing loss (ear canal injury, eard drum or ossicular injury) or sensorineural hearing loss (injury to inner ear).

Simple concussion (no bleeding) needs time to regian hearing, where as complicated (ossicular chain damage or ear drum injury needs surgery. In your case, It is a recent trauma (4 days old) and you need to wait.

I need your puretone audiogram and impedence audiometry to comment further on your hearing loss. If you have already done, kindly attach the report.

In the mean time, do not allow water per ear (plug them during bath), common cold episodes (avoid ear infection) and continue medications aper your local doctor.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
