Suggest Remedy For Pimples In Urethral Opening While Treating Interstitial Cystitis

default
Posted on Tue, 5 Jan 2016
Question: Hello,
I have interstitial cystitis resulting in urethritis fairly often but not perpetual.
I spread my urethral opening to see why it was so irritated and noticed that there was a small bump on the inside. It does not appear warty but more pimple like. The coloration is darker than the surrounding tissue however so I am concerned. I cannot tell if this is due to the surrounding inflammation or if something else.
Here is a link to the images. You will need to zoom in. The bump is on the actual right side purplish and surrounded by inflammation. In some images the penis is upside down but you should be able to see it.

Brief Answer:
It is severe inflamation of terminal part of Urethra (Urethritis)

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts and photographs that you have uploaded it appears that you have acute inflammation of terminal part of urethra.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have other urinary symptoms like burning urination ,hematuria ,pain .fever etc ?
2) Did this happened after having unprotected sex ?
3) Is there any discharge from penis?

Get following basic tests done to help to establish diagnosis and to take appropriate treatment .
1) Urine routine and culture
2) Swab test and culture of discharge from lesion .

You need to take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefixime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily for a week .

It should get cured with this treatment .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

To answer your questions I actually have had interstitial cystitis for two years which causes this inflammation urethritis. I've already been to a urologist that diagnosed it. I also have the accompanying symptoms of lower pelvic pressure I have pain in the prostate and anal areas as well common with this condition.

My area of concern actually in asking this question was the singular bump that I found when inspecting my urethra. What is your feedback on the attached images? Is this something that you see with inflammation or is this something that needs further inspection? Thank you for your consideration

Saw urologist today checked visible opening to urethra. Did not scope did not see any indications of lesions. Urine test was negative for bacteria. Went ahead and prescribed me 100mg of doxicycline monohydrate twice daily for two weeks and to come back if still an issue. Hows that sound?. Brief Answer:
Doxicycline is an antibiotic .You can take it for two weeks .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .

Routine urine test does not show presence of bacteria in urine .It is urine culture that is confirmative and precise test that will show the organisms .

Doxicycline is an antibiotic commonly prescribed for infection in genito Urinary tract infection when urine culture is not done .

Take it for two weeks and observe for improvement in your symptoms
Thanks and Regards.
