Question: Just been reading the signs for hypothyroidism !

I was diagnosed about 10 years ago and in taking 75mg of Eltroxin.... And I STILL experience all of those symptoms..... except Hair Loss.

I experience heart n pulse quickening, feelings of Agitation which are very uncomfortable...almost like a mild panic, hot and cold feelings, one minute hot and throwing off bedcovers or taking off a sweater..... Then getting chilly n having to cover up again.

I keep a steady weight of 68-70 kilo but can't lose any more. I'm 5'5" tall and fairly fit. Healthy diet and age 68. I'm also on BP tabs Amlode 5mg and for my cholesterol 10mg of Atorvastatin. I'm on the high end of normal with my BP .... 138/85.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks XXXXXXX Bunworth

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your concern.
May i know your last thyroid blood reports?
Do you experience post menopausal hot flushes? ( it is rare at this age, but in some people, it lasts longer).
In view of your symptoms, it is ideal to rule out hormone problems other than thyroid as well. Most symptoms of hypothyroidism is non specefic, which means they can also occur in many other illness. It is important to note that depession/anxiety can produce many such symptoms.

May i suggest following tests,
1) CBC, ESR
2) Fasting glucose
3) Electrolytes, Serum creatinine.
4) Liver function tests.
5) Urine RE
6) 8 AM serum cortisol.
7) Anti TPO , Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 levels.
8) FSH ( fasting).

I would appreciate if you could attach the last Thyroid function tests .

Regards
Binu
