I have been getting rashes around my mouth at random times. At first I feel something at the corner of my mouth and within minutes it has spread around my lips. After researching, I thought this might be some sort of skin infection because I took antibiotics a few months ago and did not realize I needed to back it up with probiotics to maintain a healthy immune system. I am 17. 5'4. 100 pounds. Female. I used econozole nitrate cream 1% with hydrocortisone 2.5% for a month and no rashes...but then I stopped and it came back one night. Back on the creams now. I appreciate any help/advice.
Rashes around mouth seems to be inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. It can be due to remove of natural moisture and making prone to bacterial or fungal infection. I would suggest you to apply lip balm throughout the day to retain moisture, drink plenty of water, use humidifier at home and apply vitamin E oil at night. It will be better to apply lip balm having SPF 30. Eat green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits. You an also continue honey usage.
If condition persists for more then a week or get worse consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis so that doctor can rule out any infection.Doctor may prescribe oral/topical antibiotics or anti fungal depending upon the condition.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
