Question: Hi.
since my mum died 3 years ago this christmas i feel like not wanting to do anything like i used to. Everything started at once with me. I got diagnosed with an under active thyroid and i put on 2 stone of weight just on my stomach seemingly. I think i may also be going through menopause as i get very flushed and my periods are way further apart.my lower back seizes up and kills me every morning to get up. I had all the blood tests and normal and im now been referred to rheumatic or something like that.im tired all the time.i am 46 just gone. My question is.. is there anything i can do or take to make me feel better, more energetic or motivated. I dont want to feel that everything is a huge chore anymore.

Good evening

Thank you for writing on health care magic

I have gone through your history and you appear to be in major stress which has triggered off a syndrome called Fibromyalgia. The feelings of fatigue, headaches, forgetfulness, irritability all come along. The blood tests wont pick it up and the doctors may not want to give you time on it either, but it is affecting your quality of life.

I would like you to read up on it as you need to be convinced about the diagnosis first as the management and coming out of it will depend a lot on you than the medications. These sort of symptoms are common in menopause as well, but since it has been going on for 3 years seems a bit unlikely.

Good evening

Yes, that is the key aspect in it which distinguishes it from the other serious illness inside, as you dont expect good days in them as they are continuous process. But the days you are stress free, have a good sleep you will have good days to go with.

I would suggest, before we start medical theraphy you try to work out ways to de stress yourself.

1. Meditation along with yoga is quite helpful as it peaces out your mind and gives you positive energy. I recommend it for lot of patients and some patients it does wonders

2. Indulge in a hobby you like. Give time to yourself away from work/relatives, where it is only about you. DO it for an hour a day and it will take your mind off a lot of things

3. Make sure you have good sleeping hours . So if you need to exercise to tire yourself out you should do that. Pain may increase when you start exercises, but then keep doing it and you will come over it.

Drug therapy I would like to hold for now as once you start it is hard to come off. Even with drugs, you need a bit of lifestyle changes as I have mentioned above as most people stop responding to the same dose of drugs after 3 months.

I hope the information was useful

DO let me know for more queries. WOuld be happy to help out
