Suggest Remedy For Severe Pain In Knee

Question: My wife has been suffering from severe and excessive knee pain on her right leg. She had four accedental falls and she is slightly overweight with 76 kg and her height is 5 feet. Doctor has suggested knee replacement. But she is totally afraid of operation and sternly refusing operation. We want to post pone the operation for about four months till our son comes from Germany in December. Can you pl suggest some remedial measures to reduce the pain till operation?

I appreciate your concern for your beloved wife.

Following measures can be effective in reducing the pain and swelling:

1. NSAID pain killer like Aceclofenac along with a proton pump inhibitor like Pantoprazole to reduce the acidity related stomach upset
Or Paracetamol with Tramadol is also equally effective
2. Capsaicin cream to be applied on the affected area with friction

3. If she does not get relief from the above medicines, then she may need Inj Hydrocortisone to be given into the affected knee joint.
