Suggest Remedy For Severe Stomach Pain After Quitting Alcohol

Options considered
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Assuming by that statement that you were regularly on alcohol, and that is why you are worrying about withdrawal.
I would suggest testing with amylase and lipase just to rule out pancreatitis.
Know that the pain in pancreatitis typically comes after eating food.
Also is associated with nausea and vomiting.
The other possibility of course is gastritis.
In that case a simple antacid should help you.
Try taking omeprazole for this. Omez FF is a fast acting antacid, you may try the same.
One other possibility is gall stones.
It has similar symptoms.
It can be easily ruled out with an ultrasound of the abdomen.
Of course, withdrawal may occur for up to 7-17 days sometimes.
I would therefore suggest starting Tablets of thiamine as well.
Its better to have someone responsible around you always in view of possible withdrawal.
Best of luck. Dr Mittal

Needs USG and Endoscopy
Detailed Answer:
I would suggest getting an endoscopy and ultrasound.
We still need to rule out gall stones.
And possible erosive gastritis.
Best of luck.

Sometimes its the blood tests that dont catch it
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I have read your response.
Its good that now you have been diagnosed, treatment can start.
there are too many mimics of pancreatitis.
And sometimes, even blood tests miss it.
So its possible that it was missed.
Best of luck.
Get well soon.
