Brief Answer:
Acid reflux will not cause swollen lymph nodes.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Acid reflux occurs in normal people about 4-5 times a day. In severe cases reflux occurs more than 15-20 times per day.

2. In addition to acid, digestive enzymes are also present in the reflux. These are neutralised by saliva which is alkaline. With every reflux, the pH falls and the enzymes are activated again, adding to the irritation by the acid.

3. Most cases of reflux will setyle down with lifestyle an diet changes. About a third of cases have a hiatus (sliding) hernia. This requires a USG (Ultrasound) Abdomen or a Gastroendoscopy to detect.

4. H. pylori infection is another common condition that needs to be investigated. A biopsy, breath, blood or stool tests are available for h. pylori detection. Medication for h. pylori is available.

5. Hence you should get a VL'Scopy (Videolaryngscopy) done by an ENT Specialist and if this shows signs of reflux, consult a Gastroenterologist.

I hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
There should be no major issue now.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. If the acid reflux is now under control there is no major issue.

2. If the earlier endoscopy is within normal limits, there is no need to repeat an endoscopy.

3. Continue the anti-reflux (GERD) medication for at least 8 to 12 weeks.

I hope I have answered your query. Please reply back with the answers and I will be able to help you further.

Regards.
