Brief Answer:
try omeprazole and see doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your question.
It sounds like you may have gastritis or reflux. I suggest that you try omeprazole taken 30 minutes before your largest meal of the day. Omeprazole (prilosec) is stronger than pepcid and may clear your symptoms.
If you have risks for heart disease such as smoking, hypertension, diabetes or high cholesterol check with your doctor to make sure they do not think this is coming from your heart.
If the omeprazole does not take care of the problem and your doctor does not feel that it is coming from your heart you may need to see a gastroenterologist for further evaluation.
