Suggest Remedy For Sweating And Excessive Crying After Head Injury
Most of the time it resolves within 24-48 hours
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
The symptoms like vomiting, headache(exceesive crying suggestive of headache) suggests that there is traumatic brain injury.
Traumatic brain injury can be mild to very severe form.Milder for of traumatic brain injury is known as concussion, in which there is no significant injury to brain parenchyma. In this patient may present with headache, irritability and vomiting but loss of conciousness is uncommon.
In severe form of traumatic brain injury(intracerebral bleeding/depressed fracture) patient usually experiences loss of conciousness. The duration of loss of conciousness may vary from few minutes to several hours.
CT scan done after head injury detects the major abnormalities. Based on the CT finding immediate management is based.
I have gone through the CT report of your son and it rules out any significant traumatic brain injury. It appears that he had symptoms due to concussion.
Concussion should be managed conservatively as in your case it has been done.Like analgesic and antiemetic.
Symptoms of concussion should be resolved within 48-72 hours. If it is not resolving then consult your doctor. As sometimes although it is uncommon, there can be a form of traumatic brain injury in which there is injury at the neuronal level(Diffuse axonal injury) which can be missed in CT scan and better detected by MRI.The diffuse axonal injury is usually suspected when there is no improvement in symptoms after 72-96 hours of head injury.
So you need not to worry. Continue the medication as prescribed. It appear to be concussion with mild scalp hematoma. Scalp hematoma resolves on its own.Be careful about the persistence of symptoms. If symptoms like vomiting, irritability persists consult your doctor.
I will be glad to answer if you have any further query.
Wish him early recovery.
Regards

The behavioral and feeding abnormalities he is showing are may be due to the trauma.Gradually he will start feeding as before illness. The decreased frequency of urination may be due to decreased oral intake and vomiting.
Don't worry.Encourage him for feeds and try to feed him even during night time.Observe for frequency of urine and if he does not passes urine even after 8-10 hours consult your pediatrician.

Hello
Thanks for the query
You can give domperidpne(sup domstal) for
Vomiting and lansoprazole(junior lanzole) for acidity.
Dose of domperidone is 0.2-0.3 mg/kg/dose two to three times a day and lansoprazole 0.5-1.0 mg/kg/ day. Both these are prescription drugs, please get it prescribed by his doctor.
Watch for urine output as decreased frequency can occur in dehydration.

This is not because of internal injury
Detailed Answer:
Hello
If he is playing well and accepting breast feed,it seems to be everything is OK.
If he is passing stool and there is no abdominal distension or vomiting there is no need to worry.
No investigation is required right now.Encourage him for breast feed and mashed home feed.
Sometimes parents get more worried and anxious due to the recent event.
Don't worry, keep trying frequent feed and consult your physician if you really find anything serious.
Wish you and your family a good health.
