Brief Answer:
Superficial veins insufficiency.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Leg swelling and foot swelling can appear due to injury, veins thrombosis, veins insufficiency.
If you have had any injury recently, that can be the main reason of swelling.
If you have any calf pain, pain while walking, the calf is hard when palpating it, deep veins thrombosis should be ruled out.

One side leg and foot swelling is very often caused by veins insufficiency. Due to superficial veins enlargement, the blood remains in such veins (instead of coming back to the heart) and gets to the tissues. This result with tissues swelling.

I suggest you to consult your doctor, have physical examination and Dopplers veins ultrasound done.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
