Suggest Remedy For Swelling In Tonsils
Some asymmetry is normal.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
It is not abnormal for there to be some difference in size. If it doesn't have white spots or flaming red, it is probably normal. Sometimes if there is some sinus drainage more one one side than the other, the corresponding tonsil may be a little larger. If you want, you can try to upload a picture and if it is fairly clear and enough light, I might be able to tell you if it looks ok.
Brief Answer:
Is it the tonsil on your right side that looks bigger to you?
Detailed Answer:
From the pictures, the tonsillar tissue looks ok, but it looks like the one on your right side (left in the picture) is either larger or I am seeing a shadow. The part that looks larger is the area behind the tonsil, and that is why I can't tell. Are you are still having problems with swallowing? I think it would be reasonable to go have your throat looked at in person. It's easy enough for either your doctor or an urgent care doctor to have a look with their otoscope light, where they can see what is going on. I don't think it is anything frightening, but worth a look.
By the way, I always advise that if you go in to see a doctor, make sure it is a doctor, not a PA (physician's assistant) or NP (nurse practitioner). I give that recommendation to everyone.
A quick check.
Detailed Answer:
I think it is ok because the tissue I see looks healthy, but would recommend a quick check and then you won't have to worry about it.
