Question: A roll up door fell on top of my head, the sensor was not working and upon impact to my head the door went up. I felt the sudden impact but didn't feel unusual that day. After a few months, the upper back pain started with some breathing problems and it came out from an MRI that I have degenerative disc disease and disc herniation causing spinal cord stenosis at several point from thoracic to lumbar. In your medical opinion, the accident caused or triggered the disc herniation and spinal stenosis?

Brief Answer:
Not likely to be due to accident.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The degenerative disc disease and disc herniation are age related slowly progressive changes of the spine. The accident causes a sudden bone injury and an immediate disc herniation or nerve root compression that is non progressive in nature.
You can confirm this by doing another MRI after 6 months to see any progression of the herniation.
I hope this answers your query.
